The article is devoted to the problems of investigating timber smuggling, responsibility for which established by Art. 201-1 Criminal Code Ukraine. relevance issue lies in fact that smuggling one most dangerous criminal phenomena sphere social life country, because it causes damage not only financial and economic systems state, but also other types offenses are closely related it, particular, official, corruption, ecological. In fact, thousands tons industrial wood exported from country every day under guise ordinary - fuel wood, multimillion-dollar losses economy Ukraine.
